As a finance graduate you will gain a valuable overview of the business through participation in business planning, forecasting, investment analysis, preparation of management accounts and budgetary control. Finance graduates will work closely with commercial and production departments to analyse performance and will build up a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Your day will be filled with meetings to discuss ways of improving profitability, or you may find yourself visiting the production line in order to gather information. You will be involved in mini-project work which includes examining product costings, production planning and factory overheads, while dealing with key players and helping them to improve productivity. You will be encouraged to identify and implement the right solutions from your own analysis. Statistics are the lifeblood of the business and it will be your responsibility to ensure they are produced on time.

You will be responsible for creating statistical reports early on, as well as querying anomalies, representing your department in meetings and supervising others. Once you have covered the basics, you will start to take on more extensive responsibilities and become more involved in matters of strategic importance.

Entry Requirements
